To celebrate 20 years of Other Voices, we travelled to Dingle, Co. Kerry to create a film that captures both the spirit of the weekend and the legacy of the series. Featuring David Keenan, Tolü Makay and Damien Dempsey, the piece moves through some of the most iconic locations in the area — from sunset on the beach to the intimacy of Kennedy’s Pub and the wild edge of Dún Chaoin.
The film weaves together performance and place, reflecting the deep connection between music and landscape that has defined Other Voices for two decades. Each location was chosen not just for its beauty, but for its atmosphere — grounding the performances in something distinctly Irish and timeless.
The voiceover draws from Fiche Bliain ag Fás by Maurice O’Sullivan (1933), with each featured artist reading an excerpt from the text. That shared narration binds the film together — a tribute to the past, a celebration of the present, and a fitting close to twenty years of remarkable music.
