In 2022, Hennessy partnered with Irish creatives to explore the brand’s deep cultural link with Ireland and music. Titled A Shared Connection, the project brought together voices from Ireland’s hip-hop community to reflect on creativity, identity and aimed to bridge history with a modern generation of Irish artists shaping the country’s music culture today.

At the centre of the project were three distinct voices from the Irish music scene: Celaviedmai, Mango, and God Knows, stylist Zeda the Architect and photographer Ruth Medjbar. Rather than framing the film as a traditional brand piece, the creative direction leaned into conversation and atmosphere. The artists speak openly about their influences, their communities, and the way Irish hip-hop continues to evolve, creating a portrait of a scene built on collaboration and shared experience.

Capturing that authenticity meant creating an environment where the artists felt comfortable enough to speak candidly while still building a strong visual identity for the film, balancing intimate interview moments with stylised performance and portraiture. The camera language remained fluid and observational, allowing the artists’ personalities and perspectives to drive the narrative rather than forcing a scripted structure.

In post-production, the focus shifted toward rhythm and tone. The edit moves between the three artists, drawing parallels between their experiences while gradually tying those stories back to Hennessy’s Irish origin. Music and pacing carry the film forward, giving each voice space while building a collective narrative about creativity, heritage, and connection.
