Backed by government support, Circular.ie set out to introduce the principles of circular living to households across Ireland, encouraging people to keep products in use for longer and rethink what ends up in landfill. They needed a brand film that could translate policy into something human, immediate, and relatable. That's where we came in.

Working alongside Wove, who led brand design/strategy, we focused on bringing "circular" behaviours to life on screen. The challenge was scale. Circular living touches everything, from reusable cups and secondhand bikes to clothing swaps, leftover meals, and shared tools. We generated an expansive list of scenarios, then distilled it down to a set of tightly crafted vignettes that could coexist within a 30-second TV spot. Each moment had to feel authentic, diverse, and recognisable to ordinary life.

The central creative device was the circle itself. Rather than treat it as a graphic afterthought, we embedded it into the physical world of the film. Circular forms appeared in mugs, bicycle wheels, bowls, handbags, stickers, and furnishings. Camera movements echoed this circular motif through rotations and fluid arcs. In the edit, circular wipes and spinning transitions connected one scenario to the next, creating momentum while reinforcing the brand’s visual language.

In post-production, the focus was rhythm and clarity. With so many micro-stories in play, pacing was everything. We refined transitions so they felt intuitive rather than decorative, ensuring the circular motif supported the message rather than overshadowing it. Alongside the hero commercial, we delivered a suite of social cutdowns and digital assets, extending the campaign’s reach across platforms.

For a previously unfamiliar organisation introducing a concept that can feel abstract, the film gave Circular.ie a confident public debut. It positioned circular living not as sacrifice, but as something fun, communal, cash-saving and well within reach for ordinary Irish citizens.
